Our Commitment
Vision Cast is a podcast created by and for the blind and visually impaired community. Accessibility is not an afterthought — it is our foundation. We are committed to ensuring this website is usable by everyone, regardless of ability or assistive technology.
What We Do
- All pages use semantic HTML with proper heading hierarchy
- ARIA landmarks, labels, and roles throughout the site
- Skip navigation links on every page
- High-contrast dark theme designed for low-vision users
- Keyboard-accessible navigation with visible focus indicators
- Form inputs linked to labels and helper text via aria-describedby
- No overlays, pop-ups, or technologies that interfere with screen readers
- Atkinson Hyperlegible font, designed for readability
Standards
We aim to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We test with screen readers including TalkBack, VoiceOver, and NVDA.
Known Limitations
Some episode descriptions are pulled from our RSS feed and may contain inconsistent formatting. We are working to improve this.
